Welcome to Newington Churches Together.

Newington Churches Together is a group of churches in the Newington area of Edinburgh, whose representatives meet three times a year, in February, May and October, to work together ecumenically to further God’s kingdom in the community and beyond.
Members of the congregations get together to pray during the week of prayer for Christian unity and throughout the year. Joint ecumenical services take place at Easter and other times during the year. See the right hand panel for details of when and where.
The group works collaboratively on different projects, one of the the main ones being the Cameron Toll Chaplaincy project, administered along with the SEECAT group of churches in South-East Edinburgh. Another is hoped to be Street Pastors. As a first step towards this t`here was an evening presentation on Monday 28th February about the work of Street Pastors.
A new season of Praying Together has started. This year we’re meeting at St Peter’s in Lutton Place. See the right hand panel for details of when and where.
It’s Advent! And the various NCT churches have special events on over the Christmas period. You are welcome to join in any of them. Here is what’s on, as far as known.
Remembering 9/11: On Sunday 11th September, the 10th anniversary of 9/11, there was a short, multi-faith event in the garden of St Peter’s, Lutton Place, organised by St Peter’s Community Outreach Group, on behalf of Newington Churches Together. For more details see the Remembering 9/11 entry under Recent News.
